Terms of Service
Effective date: 26 June 2026 · Last updated: 26 June 2026
1. Agreement to These Terms
By creating an account or using the Bilot service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). The Service is operated by Bilot / Business Pilot ("we", "our", "us"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a business or organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
2. The Service
Bilot is an AI-powered LinkedIn content management platform. It generates LinkedIn posts and images, manages a publishing schedule, learns your professional voice, and publishes approved content to LinkedIn using your authorised consent. The Service operates in the modes you configure: Manual Control (you publish manually), Review Before Posting (AI prepares, you approve), or Autopilot (AI prepares and publishes automatically, subject to plan entitlements).
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. For paid subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days' notice of any material change that affects the paid features you rely on, or we will offer a pro-rated refund.
3. Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at legal@bilot.ai if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their knowledge and consent. One account is intended for one professional identity or brand workspace.
4. Subscription Plans and Billing
Free trial
New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with a limit of 3 posts. No credit card is required for the trial. After the trial window or post limit is reached (whichever comes first), content generation is paused until you select a paid plan.
Paid plans
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Current plans and prices are listed at /pricing. Prices are displayed in EUR and include applicable taxes where required by law.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Billing (Stripe Customer Portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain full access to all paid features until then. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable law.
Refunds
If you experience a material service failure attributable to Bilot within the first 7 days of a new paid subscription (excluding free trial), contact us at legal@bilot.ai and we will review a refund on a case-by-case basis. Consumers in the EU may have additional statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law.
Plan usage limits
Each plan includes a monthly post preparation limit. These limits are hard limits enforced server-side. If your limit is reached, new content generation is blocked until the next billing period or until you upgrade. Unused post allowances do not roll over to the next month.
Price changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will notify you at least 30 days in advance by email. If you disagree with a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect.
5. Your Content and Intellectual Property
All content you submit to the Service (business profile information, Knowledge items, feedback, uploaded images) remains your property. You grant us a limited licence to process, store, and use this content solely to operate the Service on your behalf.
AI-generated posts and images produced by the Service based on your inputs are considered your output. You are responsible for reviewing and approving AI-generated content before it is published to LinkedIn. We do not claim ownership of AI outputs generated for your account.
We do not use your personal content, business data, or Knowledge items to train shared AI models.
5A. Knowledge Base Content: Your Sole Responsibility
By submitting any content to the Knowledge Base, you explicitly acknowledge and agree to the following:
You are the data controller
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent data protection laws, you — not Bilot — are the data controller for any personal data relating to third parties (clients, colleagues, partners, or any other individuals) that you choose to enter into the Knowledge Base. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your collection and submission of such data has a lawful basis under applicable law, including any necessary consent, legitimate interest assessment, or contractual justification.
Anonymise before you enter
Do not enter real client names, specific commercial terms, contractual details, trade secrets, or any other information that is covered by a non-disclosure agreement, confidentiality clause, or professional duty of confidentiality. Instead, anonymise or paraphrase: describe the situation, the challenge, and the outcome using general terms that do not identify the client or disclose protected information. For the purpose of teaching Bilot your tone and voice, publicly available information is entirely sufficient.
We make no guarantee of confidentiality for submitted content
Any content you submit to the Knowledge Base that is used as context for content generation will be transmitted to third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI) as part of the generation process. Bilot does not guarantee that submitted content will remain confidential or that third-party AI providers will not process, retain, or use it in accordance with their own policies. The "privacy classification" labels (Public Safe, Internal Only) are organisational tools to help you manage your own content — they are not technical isolation guarantees. You use these classifications at your own risk and remain solely responsible for the data you choose to submit.
Your indemnification obligation
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bilot and its officers, employees, and service providers from and against any claims, damages, fines, penalties, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your submission of confidential, personal, or protected third-party data to the Knowledge Base without appropriate authorisation; (b) any breach of a non-disclosure agreement, professional duty of confidentiality, or data protection obligation caused by the content you enter; or (c) any GDPR or data protection authority enforcement action arising from third-party personal data you submitted.
Our recommendation
To build an effective AI voice, we recommend entering only: your own professional experience described in general terms, publicly known case study outcomes, your methodology and approach, your offers and pricing (if public), and industry observations. Real names, specific contract values, and any information disclosed under a duty of confidentiality should never be entered into the Knowledge Base.
6. LinkedIn Compliance
Bilot integrates with LinkedIn via its official API. By connecting your LinkedIn account, you authorise Bilot to act on your behalf within the permissions you explicitly grant during OAuth consent. You remain responsible for ensuring that content published via Bilot complies with LinkedIn's User Agreement and Professional Community Policies.
Do not use Bilot to publish content that violates LinkedIn's policies, is false or misleading, infringes third-party intellectual property, constitutes spam or unsolicited promotion, or contains harmful or offensive material. We may suspend your account without notice if we receive a credible report of such violations.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Impersonate another person or organisation.
- Publish content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service or our AI models.
- Resell, sublicence, or share access to the Service with third parties.
- Circumvent rate limits, plan limits, or other technical controls.
- Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair our infrastructure.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bilot and its officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Consumers in the EU may have statutory rights that these Terms cannot override.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, suitable, or effective for your purposes.
You are solely responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before publishing, and for any consequences of publishing content on LinkedIn.
10. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law.
On termination: your access to the Service ends immediately. Your data is retained for 30 days (allowing recovery) and then permanently deleted, except for billing records required by law (retained 7 years).
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and/or an in-app notice at least 14 days before the new Terms take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and, where applicable, the laws of the country in which we are registered. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall first be addressed by contacting us at legal@bilot.ai and attempting resolution in good faith within 30 days. If unresolved, disputes may be submitted to the courts of competent jurisdiction.
If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution Platform .
